The advantages in higher voltage are thinner cables (cheaper, eaiser to run, eaiser to wire) and you can use a smaller/cheaper charge controller. Batteries are better in series (adding voltage) rather than parallel. I have a couple if 48V PV systems, one with a 48-12 converter the other with a 48-24 converter, both for lighting circuits.

Not an expert but I don't see how desktop can draw less power than laptop, unless you run it on laptops cpu. Desktop Ram will draw more power, so will gpu and cooling, and you need to include monitor. have you considered nintendo switch or ps4 slim
