This is an excellent hard drive for my future build at this price where a SSD would hold the OS, then RAID-1 for a nice 2TB for storage/programs - peace of mind!

I always trust WD (never had any problems in 10 years) and the 5 year warranty is top notch as always.

I always awnted a caviar HDD :(
Just the prices hurt my wallet. So sticking with the samsung f3s which are good nag for bucks. <3

P.s. Are these triple platter HDDs?

As far as I'm aware, there are no triple platter 2TB drives. These will have four platters of 500GB each.

ayee, I thought triple Platter was weird, just the picture looked like it might be:p
But is 4 platters really stable for a high speed HDD?
(H)
p.s.
thanks speed for the speedy reply. ( see what lamness I did there ;))

lol.... you are not the first to make that joke and won't be the last! ;)

There are plenty 7200RPM 2TB drives on the market so I don't see why not. They would have been thoroughly tested anyways.
