LPR print queue on OSX?

We have a Windows Server 2008 print server with a Konica MFD installed.
Within the driver settings on this it is configured with an LPR queue rather than RAW, at the suggestion of Konica.

Now, on Windows PCs this is fine the driver is pulled off the server and this is set automatically, or at worst I can manually set it on each PC.
Each job spools to the print queue as required.

However, I have no idea how this translates to the Mac.
It appears that LPR is only available if I set it up to print directly to the printer, rather than via the servers print queue?

Is this correct?

Thank you. I will try it like that then.
The Macs were just added to the domain through Accounts and Logon Server - I found the document somewhere as Macs aren't my main area!

The printer itself is not aware of the specific user, as it all normally routes through the print server. Also the authentication on the printer is set to allow 'Public' users as we don't lock down/log jobs directly.
