LSI MegaRAID SAS 9211-8i

Hi,

I've got an LSI 9211-8i flashed to IT mode for my media storage (running parity protected JBOD). I've been investigating why my power usage is higher than expected and it appears that the server doesn't or can't power down the hdds even though its set to. Does anybody know if this card can pass idle commands to the connected HDDS in windows server?

The 9211-8i uses the SAS2 Falcon 2008 chipset from LSI. I'm not sure what the Dell uses. Reports suggest that perhaps it doesn't support idle spin down but I can't find for certain and its bugging me!
