Just bought a pair of KEF LSX II, they're currently connected via USB to SoundBlaster G6 then optical out to the main speaker.

Is there a way of controlling the speaker volume with PC controls volume?

Sounds like the G6 has fixed level digital output which is normal.
I don't have either devices but I think you need to connect the PC direct to the Kefs via USB.

I had a dabble at controlling the original LS50W via network, and at the time there were a few home automation projects being worked on.
I've just found this tool which might do close to what you've after - https://github.com/proflylab/kef-control (it's for the original LSX and I don't know if KEF changed the protocols for the LSX2).
FWIW I've got my original LSXs connected via optical to my PC. I leave the LSX volume at a moderate level and then use the windows volume control - not ideal but good enough.

Thank you all for responses. USB straight to speakers works fine
The speakers have their own internal DAC and amp which which will both be tuned to their specific task, I would imagine it will sound better and likely a higher quality than the G6 anyway. :)

Yep I'd use the Kef internal controls for sure. That's what I do with the lsx 1.
