Well ive been trying for about 2 years not very seriusly then today when i just decided to have a nap about 9 am since id been up since 5. It happend it was good at first but then insanley scary how much like real life it was. I found me recalling memorys from 2 - 3 years ago with perfect Recognition and then i could use the internet, i was sat at my pc on OCUK at one point (yes i am serius) and i was googling and i actually opened a wiki page about lucid dreaming i read that if you a looked at a mirror you can tell if you are so i looked, my god scariest thing of my life i was seriusly tripping out my whole body morphed and then i was in my kitchen feeling super drunk but floating in mid air. I woke up thaught that was sick! So then i tried again it worked again but this time i was somehow in my mind and i could see me joining up letters when spelling something but i was joining them up with lines from key to key on the keyboard but i couldnt see the keyboard the letters just lit up. When i realised the potential while in my second dream i managed to put myself outside my house and my mates there flying and then asoon as i saw him doing it i now could fly. You have to belive you can you cant just think you can, for instance i was trying to walk through walls by thinking about it and nothing happend i found myself just thinking but when i actually just attempted walking through a wall knowing it was possible it worked :)

The thing that worrys me tho is the ammout of data our brains actually store. i dont think i can actually belive it(i was on the internet reading word for word stuff i now realise i must have glimpsed at a few months ago). its made me think about there being parallel universes etc because what i have just done seems to be somekind of well .....

I reccomend trying it asoon as possible ive done some more reading now and im gonna start dream journals etc so i can do it every night.

Must warn you tho if your atheist it will make you think twice because of how real it is. The only reason i knew it was a dream is because i rememberd going to sleep and i recognised some stuff that couldnt possibly happen in real life.

P.S

The graphics :P are immense everything looks real.

im starting to think someone may have spiked my drink last week with LSD or something and its got stuck in my liver and just processed. i dont do any drugs.

I had a dream last night where I was at the top of my stairs with a sentry gun from TF2 defending against all the neighbourhood cats that wanted to come up the stairs for some reason.

Trick is to go to sleep the same time every night and get up the same time every morning for about 2 weeks. Then set you alarm for REM sleep time. or have an alarm thats just one beep (enough for you to register a noise to half wake-up)

Also L-Tryptophan in high doses before bed does the trick (it's in most bodybuilders protein supplements) - 1000-1500mg should be sufficient. You might have to live with 1 or 2 nights restlessness first before the dreams start though.

I generally have lucid dreams but I'm struggling with the control aspect - the only time I gain any real control is when the dream just happens to reach a point which requires me to make a moral decision and it quickly changes back to just going with the flow even then however much I try to stay in control of the dream.

EDIT: Oh and looking in the mirror is an interesting one, something deep down inside me says not to do it heh like I'd be scared at what I saw.

and how might i work out my rem sleep time and are you suggesting i wak emyself up at Rem time then turn aarm off and go back to sleep ?

ya it is you got any tips for me ive been trying for 2 years and its only just happend

Conditioning of your mind I think.

In real life say, try holding your nose and closing your mouth then try breathing (you cant). Do it every day regularly. Then hopefully you will dream about doing this and when you do you will hold your nose and mouth in your dream but you will actually be breathing in your sleep. If your mind can recognise this in your sleep you will be concious you are dreaming and should be able to do things only your mind will limit you by. Try googling techniques. :) good luck

I often find myself lucid dreaming, although when I do it it's not quite like real. I know I'm dreaming, but it doesn't seem real, since I know it's a dream. I can control what I do, but only within the limits of the dream, I can't just randomly change location. It's still pretty cool, since it happens most nights when I'm not too tired, and it's like being in my own movie, and I can always remember it vividly in the morning.

edit:After doing a bit of reading, what I'm probably having isn't lucid, but just very vivid dreaming. There seem to be a few things you can try in the dream that will help you move into a lucid state, so hopefully I'll be able to remember one of them while dreaming.

Yeah most of what I have is vivid dreaming with the odd bits of lucid.

Like you said, trying to walk through walls isn't gonna work, you just have to do it. Same with teleporting or morphing, don't think, just do. Funny how you can control the people too... Dance my little puppet people dance!!!

You had a lucid dream and it didn't involve Megan Fox? Shame on you!
Have you seen her thumbs, they're like toes!

Personally i've been dreaming of Vikki Blows lately :D
Last night, had a free bar with many good looking women, good dream, felt like I was just on a night out, then i get woken up by a mate on the phone "Dude, I'm hungry as balls lets get some kfc"
I was displeased, free bar with lots of hot girls, NOOOOOO!

I always wake up once I knw it was a dream, probably for the best as I find it hard enough to get up without being able to fondle angelina Jolies breats at will.

I do find it happens more after you wake up and then go back to sleep, kind of like how you remember dreams for a short time when you wake up but then forget.

I have the same problem as Rroff. I have dreams where I know I'm in a dream, but I have little control of what I do, or at least the illusion of having control. It's like I'm following a plot to a story.

Really fustrating because when I wake up I feel annoyed that I couldn't do anything else.

Whenever i find myself lucid dreaming this always happens to me, it's really frustrating, no matter how hard i try i am just too physically weak to run, sometimes it's my arms aswell
I do fly a lot, its so surreal and an amazing feeling.
