Lucid Hydra Question

Hi, I recently upgraded from crossfire 6850's to a single 7970...I've sold one of the cards but still have one left lying around. My Motherbord supports Lucid Hydra, so I'm considering using it in conjunction with my 7970...but I'm not too familiar with Lucid Hydra tech. Will the fact that my 6850 only has 1gb of vram compared to 3gb for my 7970 handicap my performance, in that it will only use 1gb to cater for the 6850?...Does anyone have experience of Lucid Hydra, is it even worth doing? I'm a little skeptical. My setup below :-

MSI 870A Fuzion AMD 770 Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
XFX Radeon HD7970 Double D edition 3gb @1050/1450Mhz
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition @ 3.6 GHZ
G-Skill 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3 1600mhz
Powercool 750W 80plus Certified Efficiency PSU
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive
Zalman z11 Case
