What exactly is it, every time I try to install any software for it I get some message about not been able to install as no compatible hardware. I have a gigabyte z77 board.

Anyone kind enough to educate me! :)

Ah ok, cheers for that.

Is there any point using it with a single screen and gtx680.

If your referring to Lucid MVP, then in some games yes. It can give u higher frame rates without the screen tear still using v-sync.

The only problems are, DX11 is a no-no with a 2500k/2600k/2700k as they only have DX10 IGPs. So you have to play games in DX9/10.

The new IBs 3570k/3770k have DX11 IGPs and shouldn't be a problem with DX11 games.

The problem with Lucid MVP as i have seen myself and read from reviews is that it doesnt help to increase minimum frame rate but actually reduces it. It works well on increasing frame rate thats already high but whats the point? For example Its a bit like this:
Without mvp: minimum 60 fps| maximum 180 fps
with mvp: 50 | 300
