Not sure whether to post this in the mobo section or here, so please move if it's in the wrong section :)

I've done some reading around this and understand that this switches between the integrated graphics and the GPU, or using both or something like that? I was just wondering what exactly it does in more laymans terms...

I've also read that it can give large fps boosts, but some say that's only when using lower end graphics cards, and sometimes it decreases the fps, some say it makes very little difference... so what is it and does it work?

Many thanks

there's the virtu and the virtu mvp
the virtu just allows switching (z68)
the virtu mvp uses the igp in tandem with the gpu to boost framerates (z77)

That's great, that was one of the areas I was getting confused I think :)
For the virtu mvp how large a difference does it make?

Thanks for the help

I've seen noticeable improvements in some bench marks like heaven and 3dmark but the latest release was meant to add BF3 support and though I haven't tested it properly it didn't seem to make much difference to the frame rate and in fact it felt a bit worse to play imo.

To be honest I am thinking I may just uninstall it and disable the igp.

Very useful, thanks, and it seems to make a difference on both high and mid range graphics cards, and I understand it.

Thank you once again

Edit: @chaosophy, what graphics card are you using? There does seem to be a lot of variation as some say it's really good and some say it's not worth it...
