Going up to Manchester tonight for a meeting tomorrow morning that I should be out of by 12pm. Got an open return, need to grab some lunch and never been to Manchester before so after some recommendations!

Happy to take a scenic route/explore an area before sitting down.

There's an Ivy opened in Manchester now https://theivymanchester.com/

Not been, but I expect it would be nice

What sort of cuisines would you eat/not eat? Are you by yourself? And what sort of budget?

The Ivy linked is quite expensive so you're looking at a good £15-20 for a main.

I assume you're travelling back by train as well? That's a 3hr journey back to Bristol so you don't want to leave yourself travelling too uncomfortable from too much food! :D unless of course you're travelling in 1st class :P

Yeah on my own, any cuisine (tho probably not curry for lunch), prefer independents (can make an exception for The Ivy). All business innit so £15-20 for a main is fine.

And yeah travelling via train, open return, probably aim to leave by 3.30pm latest.

Luck Lust Liquor and Burn - Mexican
Evelyn's Cafe - a bit of everything (superb)
Pieminister - Pies
Ply / Tarrif and Dale - Pizza
Home Sweet Home - Brunch
Tattu - Asian Fusion
Hawksmoor - Steak
Mowgli - Indian Street
Gaucho - Argentinian
Cottonopolis - Japanese

All I do is eat, and think about eating.

If you like pizza, ply and tariff are good but Rudy's is absolutely excellent (probably the best in the country).

Good list though! Would also add Viet shack, Vietnamese / fusion. Incredible.

And Almost Famous, crazy burgers

Reds True Barbecue is always nice.

I've never rated it, doesn't do anything what another BBQ place can do apart from inflating the price. Obviously if his company are paying then crack on but out of my own wallet, nah.
