Guys,
I've been reading these forums for a couple of days there is should great help/advice offered to people around here so I'm hoping you will extend the same welcome to a noobie like me.

I'm lookinig to build myself a new PC and have a budget of up to £700.
I wont be playing any games as I have a 360 for that so dont need all singing and dancing video card.

The machine will be used for genral office stuff plus video editing/encoding for about 20% of its life.

not a major Over clocker but mmight have a tinker for the hel of it.

My main pet hate is noisy PC's and I would say Noise is more important than speed etc to me. (I must have senstive ears:) )

So far Ive picked the following items but I'm very open to your advice and happy to make changes.

Spec so far :-
320GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10
600W CoolerMaster eXtreme Power
NZXT Apollo - Orange
256MB Club 3D GeForce 7600GT
Asus P5N32-SLI Premium WiFi-AP
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
2GB OCZ Gold PC2-6400

Not sure on Cooler but needs to be quiet.

Forgot to mention I have all optical drives keyboards and monitors so base unit only required.

Hope you can help.

Cheers
Deano

Just thought of something else I will be running 64bit Vista Ultimate so I guess I need to make sure drivers are avaialable.

Hi there, welcome to the forums.

I would lower the PSU to something around 500W, 600W without a high-powered graphics card and an intense overclock is a waste of your money. Do you need that Wifi ready motherboard?

I would recommend the Noctua NH-U12F for the cooler, its extremely quiet and efficient. Check my review in sig :) Other reviews around the net recommend this cooler highly.

The wifi would be a plus to be honest as I get lots of drop outs on current PC that has a stadard aerial so I liked the look of the beefy antenna that comes with the board.

Although if its a bad board there is nothing stopping me buying a new WIFI card and buying an antenna for that.

Wow that cooler looks huge and great review by the way, will that fit in the case I've picked do you know?

Motherboard and PSU change makes sense.

Does the rest look okay ?

Well It fits in my case no problems at all:

Akasa Zen - 200 x 450 x 500 (WxHxD mm)
NZXT Apollo - 218 x 438 x 536 (WxHxD mm)

Should be fine there :)
