I'm ok with Lync but thought I would try and deploy an Edge server in my lab. Its not going so well.
I'm not using a reverse proxy because I'm just testing internally. None of these boxes see the internet.
My setup is Lync FE server, Lync Edge Server (same DNS Suffix but not domain joined), 2 x domain clients, 1 x external client (not domain joined).
I've set the edge up to use 1 internal nic and an external nic with 3 IPs. These IPs are then NAT'd in the router and I've added to the host file for the external client.
That can auto sign in, IM and desktop share, but can't whiteboard or Poll. I've not set up OWA server yet so not bothered about PowerPoint.
Internal clients can IM, poll, desktopshare, whiteboard, etc without issue.
I've put logging in on the external client but can't really seem to find what I'm looking for
What should I be ensuring is right. I've got edge internal cert and edge external cert set (the external cert was from the internal CA with common name and SANs)
