Hi, I'm new to all this building PCs stuff and I'm just a bit confused as to wether I need a m.2 memory or not. The build i have settled on is as follows:
Ryzen 5 2600x cpu
Msi b450 gaming pro carbon mobo
1tb seagate barracuda hdd
Gigabyte 2.5" 240GB SATA III
Msi gtx 1050ti 4gb afterburner you
Corsair vengeance 16GB 3000MHz DDR4 (2x8GB) RAM
Thermaltake smart rgb 600w psu

Would it benefit me to purchase a m.2 ssd or not and if so which type of card would I need or would be best suited?
I am new to all this so please don't baffle me with computer science and lingo but any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

The pc is mainly for gaming and some streaming and surfing

The reason it's suggested is because its a cheap and efficient drive. One of the better ones on the market in that price range. I've got a 1tb Intel P660 in mine and I can't fault it. If anything, I'd probably get a bigger one at some point down the line.

100% recommend getting one - Google Subarent Rocket 1tb.

I just got an Addlink S70 1TB M2 drive. £115 is a bargain and I can't see any reason to be using a HDD when super fast M2 drives are now so cheap.

As you're new to this I'll just point out - memory refers to RAM. This is a storage drive question :)

I wouldn't be going with an HDD these days unless you absolutely can't afford a larger SSD (which I'd say is unlikely given what you're building). They're such a bottleneck for a modern rig.

You can find some good deals on M.2 NVME drives if you look around. Try not to get a SATA based M.2 SSD as they're no faster or better than a standard 2.5" SATA SSD.

Some of the lesser known brands seem to be getting quite popular. I use a 512GB Sabrent Rocket M.2 drive as my main boot drive and it's been perfect so far. Very fast too and it only cost me £59.99 new.
