Hi all.
So, I have recently purchased a new m.2 drive to replace my HDD.
I already have one m.2 which I use for the boot drive
My pc has been working fine since I got it but after installing this new m.2 drive the memory channels are all messed up.
The pc will boot when slots A2 and B2 are occupied but then in the bios it shows A2 as 16gb and B2 as 248mb and then In cpuz it shows as single channel 16gb only and not 32gb.
(I have 2x16gb of ram)
one stranger thing is, if I move the two sticks to A1 & A2 it won't boot but if I then add another stick of ram into B2 (making 3 in total) it will boot as 2 x 16gb single channel with the 3rd stick showing as 248mb.

As soon as I take the m.2 out all these issues disappear. I have tried the m.2 on its own in both slots and it's fine. It's only when both m.2 drives are installed.

The motherboard is a gigabyte z390 pro with i9 9900k 32GB. I have no data drivers and no overclock. I have reset the bios and cleared the CMOS. I have ordered a m.2 pcie adaptor to see if that will help but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Many thanks in advance and sorry for the long message

That was my initial thought so I've re-seated the CPU 3 times, I've also had it where I've just been resting the cooler on the CPU with no pressure. I'm wondering if the cooler was on to tight originally.

If I use A1 and B1 it won't boot with the 2nd m.2 installed. Soon as I remove either m.2 drive then all the ram slots work fine and it will boot in any Como.
