Mods: please move to memory forum, my apologies.

Got my 512GB SM961 SSD, and the new mobo is the Asus Maximus x hero. It has a heat spreader/bling thing for the main M.2 slot. Would it be worthwhile removing the manufacture sticker and applying a dot of TIM to the chips that are in contact with the heat spreader? Or just leave the sticker on and chuck it in as is?

I'm sure that removing the product sticker would invalidate any warranty, I'd just leave as is as suggested. I just inserted mine in the slots and screwed down the heat spreader on top, job done.

Yeah that's what I've ended up doing. Apparently, the sticker has copper thread woven in to conduct heat. Damned if I can see it in light.
