M.2 to WiFi card is it a thing

So I just put a vertical mount in my pc and thought poo… where dose my WiFi card go


My WiFi card is a TP Link WiFi 6 card and if possible I’d still like to use it.

Board is a b450 aorus pro, was think about the second m.2 slot

the pcie card is just an adaptor but wifi card is the same as you get in a laptop i know it wont fit into the m.2 slot as i tried and it smaller.
i was wondering if there is an adaptor and if so what type do i need

They're interchangeable. You can convert both ways.

do you have any idea on the best adaptor to get?

I'm aware of Key-E wifi, but not an adapter to convert a PCI-E card to a M.2 slot. What does the OP need to buy?

ive see a few adaptors but they turn out to be m.2(ssd) to the wifi slot

There are also m key to e key adapters. That look like an m.2 ssd but let's you plug an m.2 e key wifi card into it.

Your wifi card won't fit in an E-key slot if it's an PCI-E card though.

It’s a little card lol… don’t know the right name. But in a pcie x1 adapter board

Ah yeah that will work sorry. You'll need to connect the antenna somehow though, do they plug in to the small card or the PCIE adaptor?

into the card. the vertical mount as a honeycomb on the back so i should be ok to force the mount into that. i just ordered some 60mm ones as the 15mm on the card itself wont reach

this is the card i have and it works amazing, everything i have tried as always been poor this why id like to keep it, but im open to better ideas if there is any

I'm assuming the card will probably actually fit in a PCI-E slot if you removed the metal bracket?

no tried that first. iv removed the vertical mount for now.
the mount i have is this, TBF im thinking about just binning the mount i only paid £18 from B-Grade

Looks to be the Cablemod bracket that has openings for the GPU only.

On the mini wifi card, how do you attach the aerials as it looks like it has small push fit connectors and all the aerials i have seen come with the larger screw in connectors.

@WARburton Can you not use power line plugs?

Unless things have changed the only real problem was if the router was on a different cicuit to the PC.

i do have separate circuit's for upstairs and down
