Hi guys,

Im looking at upgrading my system and will be going for a parvum systems 2.0 case.

I have decided on the Gygabyte Z97M-D3H mobo with an i5-4670K.
For now it will have my old 760gtx as graphics and 16gb Geil black dragon ram.

What I'm looking for are suggestions on a CPU cooler please as I believe the parvums have limited room. I would prefer air as I dont like the all in one water systems from corsair etc. I currently have a Gelid Tranquilo but from what I read its 1mm too big.

And also will my Corsair HX-750w PSU fit in the case?

Any suggestions?

cheers

Just wondering,

Any reason you've gone for the S2.0 if you're not plan on doing any watercooling? It's a case designed for water cooling primarily. Doesn't mean you have too, im just wondering why you have chosen that case? :)

The s2.0 has plenty of rad space for sure but as for tall cpu coolers, a lot of them wont fit. You can however fit a AIO like h100i or similar as the case will easily accommodate the 240 radiator.

Hi,

Im back.. I had a thought about your situation. The motherboard & CPu choice seem solid but its obviously the case and cooler that is a concern. You have 3 options really:

1) Parvum & (dreaded) AIO (watercooler)
2) Different Case and High end Air cooler
3) Parvum and mid/high end air cooler.

Obviously 3 would be your preferred option, which i've actually had a thought about.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Phanteks PH-TC14CS CPU Cooler - Black £65.99
Total : £75.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

This cooler will Fit, Its low profile, it deals well with overclocks and will Look Sublime in that case (comes in a range of colours too if black isn't you scene). The only issue with it is the price, its not cheap. I think you pay a little bit more than you get but it allows you the case you want without going with water.

Next option is different cases, in a cube-style these stand out:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Lian Li PC-A51WX Midi-Tower - Black/Black Window £124.99
1 x BitFenix Prodigy M MATX Cube Case - Midnight Black £74.95
1 x Aerocool Dead Silence Gaming Red Mini Tower Windowed £72.95
Total : £294.31 (includes shipping : £17.85).

Personally I would go for a DS or an S2.0 (i know) but there are some other options out there. :)

Lastly watercooling. 240mm Watercoolers can be had quite cheap, the 1220 is only £80ish and is sometimes reduced (was £60 the other week). So well worth keeping an eye on.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Antec Kúhler H2O 1220 Series 4 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler £81.6
Total : £90.30 (includes shipping : £7.25).

On The PSU side i found nothing (apart from your PSU being 180mm Long) But i have seen Systems in a S2.0 with a big 'looking' PSU. I don't think it'll be too much of a problem in all honesty. :)

That's great thanks for the reply Doomedspeed. Appreciate you taking the time.

The Phantek does look swish, I'll check out some reviews on it thank you.

I did consider a different case (have a bitfenix prodigy m-itx as my HTPC) but kind of had my heart set on the Parvum :D
