M-Audio audiophile 2496 Vista 32bit drivers

They took their time but this is good news for vista&m-audio users.

Anyone used the new drivers yet and care to comment if there are any issues?

I have an M-audio revolution 5.1 and i am using their beta drivers for Vista 32-bit for some months now. The betas are good and haven't noticed anything bad about them but it hope they get the final version of the drivers out for this product in 32-bit and 64-bit since it was what kept me from getting the 64-bit version of Vista in the first place.

*FINALLY!*

Been using onboard sound since building my new rig 3months ago, the change in going back to the 2496 is unbelievable. Anyone wanting a decent sounding card for little money (<£50) needs look no further :)

I have tried to use the Beta M-Audio Transit drivers Under Vista 32Bit. While the drivers work in general they bluescreen my PC when it comes out of sleep.

Not much use to me as it is usedf on my Media Centre PC ;-)

Very interested in the Delta 66.....I can't find much info on the breakout box though - can I plug my headphones into it?

Edit -anybody here using it with Vista64? Any problems etc.?

You can't plug headphones into the delta 66:

"The M-Audio DELTA 66 PCI Digital Recording Interface. 6 Input / 6 Output PCI Sound Card with Breakout Box for Mac and PC.

The M-Audio DELTA 66 was designed for the person requiring an audio card with professional features and performance, but with a price tag well below that of typical pro gear. The Delta 66 boasts an incredible sounding converter section with 24 bit 96kHz operation. Its S/PDIF I/O makes it possible to perform digital transfers in and out of the system, useful in mastering to DAT or utilizing outboard FX via digital I/O. The breakout box handles four balanced or unbalanced, +4dB or -10dB signal level analog inputs and outputs. Also included is the Delta control panel software which configures the card and controls digital mixing, routing, and even SCMS (Serial Copy Management System) output on S/PDIF.

The main features of the M-Audio DELTA 66 include:
6 Input / 6 Output PCI Sound Card with Breakout Box for Mac and PC
6x6 24 bit/96kHz full-duplex recording interface
Configured as a PCI Host card with external audio break-out box
4x4 analogue break-out box accepts balanced or unbalanced connections on 1/4 inch tip-ring-sleeve (TRS) jacks
Analogue I/O configurable for +4dB or -10dB signal levels
S/PDIF digital I/O with SCMS control
AC-3 and DTS surround support via digital I/O
Measured D/A specs: 103dB (A-weighted) dynamic range, 0.0015% THD @ 0dBFS
Measured A/D specs: 99dB (A-weighted) dynamic range, 0.0023% THD @ 0dBFS
All data paths support up to 24 bit/96kHz performance, no upgrades necessary
Powerful digital mixing, routing and monitoring capabilities
ASIO 2, MME, Sound Manager, OMS, DirectX, GSIF 2, Mac OS X Core Audio / Core MIDI compatible
Minimum system requirements (PC) are Windows 98SE / Me / 2000 (SP4) / XP (SP1 or higher - Home or Professional only), For 96kHz operation: Pentium III 500mHz w/ 128MB RAM, For 48kHz operation: Pentium II 400 w/ 64MB RAM

Edit -anybody here using it with Vista64? Any problems etc.?

They haven't released 64 bit drivers yet. Edinho must have got a little excited. They have started a beta testing program and the beta is not for general download yet.
