'Apparently' *cough* a beta driver has been leaked for delta series soundcards *cough* google *cough*
Not tried it myself yet though.

Must pop down the chemist for some Benadryl.

Got a question about this soundcard, is it better than the xonars/xfis?

It has a better DAC (digital audio convertor) than the x-fis, not sure about the xonars. But it doesn't have any hardware acceleration or surround so is strictly for getting high quality stereo sound.

Xonar D2 (and D2X) is 24-bit / 192KHz (As opposed to 24/96 on the M-audio)

Doesn't necesserily make it better though. It may well be, but the 2496 is a nice card for the 40 odd quid

Now for some 64bit drivers!

I still have a 2496 lying around from back when I did studio work. Might stick it back in when these drivers are available.

I've been using the driver for about a month now and no real issues.

For anyone who hasn't already bought an audiophile 2496, the E-mu 0404 has a pretty similar spec., similar price, and official Vista 64 support
