Hello guys, looking to up my audio setup for the PC. I have been using an LG soundbar that is not bad but the build quality is sub par and I would like a setup in audio.

Mostly for gaming and music, I have seen good reviews for the M-Audio BX5 monitor speakers. £180 is what they are available for, do they suit my needs?

Yes they are good speakers. Presonus Eris E4.5 are also very good for similar money.

Does your LG soundbar have a separate subwoofer?

Reason why I asked about whether the soundbar came with a subwoofer, is that will output more bass than just a soundbar on it's own. Would be similar to moving from 2.1 to stereo; better quality, but people who have a system with a subwoofer no matter how cheap, come to expect that bass as a norm. For some people not having as much bass from stereo speakers is almost a deal breaker, even if the sound is better.

Anyway, that's not a concern here.

If your wallet is feeling more adventurous, JBL LS305 are even better. £245 for a pair from Thomann. If not, then the BX5 D2 or Eris 4.5 are still worth getting.

Thanks for the info, I had looked at the JBL pair but they are a little beyond me at this moment.

I will move forward with the M-Audio.
