Hi, Planning to purchase a M-Audio Studiophile LX4 2.1 speaker system, only problem is how do I connect this to my pc?

I've been looking for an amplifier but most of them only have 2 speaker outputs, so how would I connect the sub?

Can anyone suggest anything

Thanks

I have no idea yet as I haven't bought them, i emailed the place selling them and they said they need an amp to control the volume etc, but I'm confused now.

I'm currently using Videologic Siroccos, but they are going in the other room otherwise i'd use the amp from these.

The place selling them is wrong - they are indeed powered monitors and have an amplifier.

If you look in this picture you will see the master and sub volume controls:

They are on the back of the sub, which just means that you'll spend most of the time controling the master volume in software.

That said - try and put the sub somewhere accesible, so that you can reach the master volume control if you really need it.

I have a similar set-up, and although I have a master volume control on my OmniStudio, I tend to mostly control the volume in software.

thanks codmate, I wont mention where who give me the bad advice, but they are quite well known, that picture helps loads, I think I'll shop around as they don't deserve to have the sale for the bad advice.

PS : If anyone has a set of these on their desk I'd love to see a photo of them.

Thanks
