M reg Transit weirdness

On my way to the lake district and the van we've had breakdown in the first 1/4 of the journey! Going down a long hill and it just lost all power and cut out!

We left it 5 minutes and are now driving at no more than 60 for the rest of the way to hopefully avoid any further issues!

Any ideas what may have caused this?

is it the fly buy wire type?? we had some issues not to long ago with one of ours...

turning it off and on again reset it and it never reappeared again. for a year or two anyway.

if not then it could be the stop valve, /relay , fuel issue did it lose power electically as well??

If its mechanical fuel injection, check the "Press to Stop" on the pump (little lever) - the spring popped off on a mates diesel and the lever rattled round and cut the fuel when ever it felt like it.

I think this must be a common problem. A guy i know has this happen to his Tranny and he has to turn it off and on again to reset.
