Thinking about getting rid of my M135i!

It is by far the quickest and most comfortable car I've owned to date. However, as mentioned in previous threads I just feel as though something is missing. It doesn't feel or look (I think its a good looking car) special enough.

Since owning this car I've test drive one other car. The C63 AMG. A car which I hope to own perhaps next year. Until then I've been considering the idea of getting the latest Mini GP!

I've always been a fan of this car and have test driven the MK1 and really enjoyed it. So it'll be interesting to see/feel what the MK2 is like. Whatever I decide to get next it'll need to offer more than just epic (or near epic) pace. It needs to look and sound good too.

So what do you lot think of the Mini GP?

Am I nuts for wanting to get rid of a car that is one of the best hot hatches out at the moment?

Yes, daft move in my opinion. I didn't like the Mini Cooper-S we had, I'd much prefer to be in a 1 series.

Seems mad to change now if you're getting a C63 AMG next year?

This time next year is the hope. Unit then I'd like to get involved in some track day hoonery. I believe the GP will make a decent track toy.

the M135i would almost certainly cost more to service after a track day and the chuckable Mini would potentially be more fun but this would be the only reason to even consider this move.

I don't understand how a Mini can feel or look more special than a M135i.

As I said the 1 is a decent looking car but lets be serious. It looks like the of the 1 series family.

Wouldn't the M135 make a better track day car?

With its soft suspension. I think not. This car as a little too much roll. The 1 M would make a more suitable track car.

Thats the main reason for wanting to change

Equally, lets be honest and say the Mini is a car driven by estate agents and teenage girls - it's hardly a Ferrari.

Personally I think the 1 Series looks and feels much more 'special' than a Mini

Litchfield seem to be having a good time with their M235i around the track, surely the M135i is not that much dissimilar? For the sake of 12 months, would it not just make sense to keep it, or get something cheaper to run whilst keeping the C63 hope alive?

I only drive during the weekends. So my running costs are pretty low as it is.

How many track days are you seriously going to do in the next 12 months? The benefit seems fairly slight to me.

If you want something more special looking that won't depreciate too much how about a 1M Coupe :p

The 1M is far too expensive lol.

As for taking the 135I on track. I'd prefer to tale something more track focused. I can't afford a GT3 and something like an elise, exige or vx220 would be a little too hard core.

I'll see what happens.

If you do go down the C63 route please for the love of god don't be one of these plebs that constantly revs the knackers off it at meets and tries to "drift" everywhere.

I've been massively put off ever owning a C63 due to constantly seeing numpties in them driving them like…numpties.

Personally, I wouldn't be swapping the M135i for a Mini but each to their own, I know some people think my car's a big ugly thing.
