Yup, it was due based on time. Sytner originally wanted 1500 quid for it, yet on the same system it was coming out at 990 for other dealers. Mad.
Ref feedback on the car - it's bonkers good fun in the same way my M3 E92 was, and the base model normal M2 wasn't. Handling is way more sure-footed and fun then the previous gen M2 - on uneven roads that could feel like it's about to bounce you into a hedge.
I can afford to replace it with an M3 Touring or Cayman (Get me etc. ) but having driven both neither feels a big enough step up to drop an extra 40-50 grand on. Also - aware of the ridiculous Cayman/M3T choice.... They're just cars I like. I tried an M4 before buying this, and that was a handful even in the dry (think they've sorted that now?) and it felt massive even compared to the E92.
Highlights
It's a very playful car for want of a better word. Very forgiving if you over-do it - I don't consider myself a great driver but this isn't scary, even running 500ish bhp. Even in the wet I just don't really worry about it, although you do see the traction light quite often.
I enjoy driving it. It's comfortable, decent tech (it's always the tech that seems to age a car isn't it?) with a decent sound system. Even DAB now works since finding out about the USB interference.
Small enough too - it feels about the same size as the E92 M3 (it's a bit shorter I think, and it feels wider from the driving seat).
Downsides
The PSS tyres it came on were beyond crap. Traction was a huge issue - even getting up the drive from my underground car park it would spin up the wheels. Very unnerving tbh. Swapped them to P4S and it transformed the car. Don't really worry about it now.
The sound is a bit meh - much preferred my previous M2 sound.
Gear box (DCT) can be a bit slow on selecting reverse - select wait go - but not hugely annoying.
Cabin is perhaps starting to look it's age compared to more modern stuff.
I really should take up a career reviewing cars.
