M25 variable speed limits, what about the cameras?

Quick question, can anyone confirm whether the speed cameras are varied inline with the speed limits on the M25, or are they fixed at catching people breaking the 70mph speed limit?

They won't catch you breaking 70MPH as long as the Red warning signs are off afaik.

I've seen someone get flashed at ~82 between M40 and M4 but I don't know if anything came of it.

M25 anything over 100mph seems to get flashed when there are no warning signs. When there are warning signs you tend to be doing 10mph anyway.

I've done some crazy speeds through the ones between m23/m4. Not once had a ticket

I thought they were off when the variable is not in force, eg at 70 when the signs are off......

They won't catch me breaking the speed limit either way. I'm the boring fart who actually keeps to the speed limits. Cruise control is a godsend for that.

I go through that part of the M25 pretty much every day. The speed limit signs are all on, but on the odd occasion when I find myself above the indicated limit by say 5 mph etc and not once has the camera's gone off.

... you just watch now, come tuesday morning I'll get flashed by every bloody one of them now!! lol

I thought speed cameras had to be yellow/orange etc and visible to be legal.

I hope so anyway as I was doing ridiculous speeds on Saturday afternoon
