M28U - laptop won't connect at 4k?

Just got this and everything works fine except my work laptop will only connect at 1440p - with my previous LG monitor this wasn't an issue. Anyone any idea how to resolve?

You could try disabling HDMI 2.1 support in the settings menu of the M28U to see if that has any effect !

Or try connecting via USB C if you can.

What HDMI version does the X380 use 1.4 or 2.0 ?

Tried disabling 2.1 but didn't help and it won't connect over USB C.

Weirdly now if it connects at 1440p the mouse and keyboard stop working... have left it at 1080p for time being.

However may try a HDMI to DP cable and then move my PC to HDMI.. so annoying as my PC and PS5 both work perfectly at 4k120p.. so the laptop should be fine at 4k60p.

Could it be something to do with the KVM switch function ? strange how it works fine on PC and PS5 @4k but not the laptop.

Try a HDMI to DP cable yeah its the next option i guess.

KVM disabled makes no difference

No I gave up in the end - 1080p scales to 4k ok and my work laptop would struggle at 4k sometimes anyway.. everything else works well and the KVM option is really useful so not too bothered.
