Yeh i pressed submit by mistake.

So there is no chance of 400bhp then its bull

Whats the most you can get out of a remap on one of these? Not much i can imagine as its a n/a car

No, its not. Of course its not.

80bhp from a remap?

There needs to be some sort of IQ test before you can buy cars like this, such a shame seeing them descend into being owned by the sort of person who goes around telling everyone its 'mapped to 400bhp mate' :(

Agreed, too many people in my area spout this nonsense! I feel ashamed to live in the same town as such monkeys.

OT

Thorney have made a bit of a mistake too I think. Under the power pack 2 upgrade it states that there is increased torque at low down. Unless my eyes aren't working properly it actually makes less torque and power until about 3800rpm.

Your brother sounds like he is a rather gullible person to believe such nonsense. Pub talk at its best!!

Thanks defcon

So its serious money for close to 400bhp!

True .. thats why i couldnt believe it, i did check on the net and could only find the odd 20ish bhp remap ... he is only trying to beat my car :D

Doesn't really matter, he's got a quick well built sport saloon, and you've got a rattly sandwich box.

Think i could live with a very slightly slower car due to the major upsides the BMW offers, aka it actually a nice place to sit.

Now he is saying that the guy before had all that done ... meh ... i said prove it

Why spout this crap lol (hope he dont prove me wrong, doubt he will tho)

Well thanks to all those with proper answers & Not needed? to all the others :D

This is pretty wide of the mark tbh. Subarus may not be up to BMWs perceived level of quality (seems to be the OcUK preferred nomenclature these days...) but an 03 Impreza is not a rattly sandwich box by any stretch. Subarus ime are well engineered, high performing well put together cars. For some people (including me) it still comes down to the fundamental contact points in a car - steering wheel, seat, gearstick and the Impreza is fine in all those aspects. It may not have a swoopy dash or plastic carbon inserts but those things don't matter to quite a lot of people. The engines in Subarus are generally strong and relaiable...and tuneable. They are practical performance cars.

Like you I drive a VAG 1.8t car and, having had 2 Imprezas, I can honestly say that the VAG stuff is more akin to a rattly sandwich box than an Impreza is. Basic - sure, bland - possibly but they are nowhere as badly put together as you are suggesting...

This thread got off to a comedic start but it seems like regardless of what happens further down the line once the ****ing starts it never ends. Bit sad...

Has he also told you it's got a nos fogged system a motec sstem exhaust and a standalone fuel management system ?

If his nav screen flashes danger to manifold when he races you then he probably does have 400bhp
