M3U playlist for IPTV from NAS?

HI, I've been trying to play video files from my NAS to some crappy "smart" TV. The only app available seems to be something called SS IPTV.

I've been able to play from the internet but I can't get it to understand a local network path...

I've tried all combinations I can think of but it can never finds the file:-

file://192.168.1.214/...
http://192.168.1.214/...
\\192.168.1.214..

Any suggestions?

Thanks, it's a WD Mycloud, but the TV is in a hotel room on a wired internet connection, but no DHCP I don't think.

I've connected the TV and NAS into a wired switch and added the wdmycloud fixed IP into my hosts file on my laptop.

Using the IP address however works fine if I paste it into Firefox or Chrome using file://192.168.1.214 etc

You need to run a webserver amd seeve the video via http. Using ‘file’ wont work
