M42 rush hour

I have to travel to Tamworth on Monday morning. From the M5 to M42/J10. It'll be the morning rush hour and I hear the M42 to the east of Brum can be pretty evil.

Anyone with personal experience of the M42 rush hour care to comment? What's the worst times?

Its called rush HOUR for a reason, if it was only a 30 minute period it would be called rush half hour ;]

the traffic controlled part of the m42 can be ok some days (by ok i mean the traffic still generally flows), mondays is the worst though, the 2 lane part of the m42 can be a right pain because of the HGVs.

that is generally any main motorway on a friday afternoon when rush hour becomes rush afternoon.
