I currently have a Panasonic G7 with the 14-42 kit lens and the Panasonic 42.5mm f1.7
I also have an old Canon 350d with the canon 50mm f1.8 and 18-135 (both USM)

I have been looking at the Canon M50, mainly because of the dual pixel AF, the AF on G7 is poor when shooting video.
portraits is another area where I prefer my old Canon, subject separation and cleaner bokeh.

If I get the M50 I will swap my current canon lenses for there STM version.
shame the canon 50mm doesn't have IS, the panasonic 42mm does and is really helpful in video.
I'd like lenses that have IS and silent (STM like noise).

camera usage is 50/50 for video and pics.

cheers

Note that on the M50 there is no dual pixel AF when recording in 4K also there is a huge crop.

Also, you are aware you'll need an adapter for the M50 to use your current lenses?

Yep, I am aware of both :)
shame canon disable DPAF in 4k, but I would rather have in focus 1080p than out of focus 4k

Manual focusing on my youngest running around is pretty much impossible.

Had a look at the Sony A6500 which is a great camera, but the LCD is dimmed when shooting 4k, so in decent sunlight it would be almost unusable.
Rolling shutter is also bad.
