Help required please :)

I'm running TriSli Titans and have been for the past 4 weeks without issue.

Turned pc on this morning loaded up BF4 black screen, audio playing in the back ground.

Tried various other games and benches (stock settings) the same result - PC does not shut down.

I can run any 2 out of 3 cards in sli so all cards work ok, but when testing individually can't

get a picture when connecting the monitor to the 3rd card

Done all the usual basic fault finding and swapped out the psu (EVGA G2 1300).

I have a feeling my PLX chip is borked, but as this is my first mobo with one I'm out of my depth.

I've probably missed something basic but I'm now at a loss as to my next move.

So here's hoping one of you kind souls can point me in the right direction.

Hi, Nick

Did all those earlier - no joy :(

Reflashed my cards bask to original bioses too and removed the OC to rule out a Power issue.

Trying to find if there is a way to test the PLX chip but google is failing me.

Done threads on both ROG and OC.net so hopefully someone will have a idea as I'm all out.

Will give it a few more days as I can still run Sli so all is not lost. :)

One thing that is throwing me -

I can run the card in slot 3 which is controlled by PLX in Sli but not in TriSli.

So this points to it not being the PLX

Not that I can see, as soon as I switch the 3rd lane on the PLX chip comes into use.

Don't think I any choice but to strip it down and RMA the mobo.

Times like this I regret not just getting the Black and a 4930K :(

You have power to additional 6 pin on board??? also try forcing GEN 2 on the board and Disabling HPET. I dont think PLX chip is broken maybe that slot is?? PLX governs second to fourth red slots.

You also tried disabling all slots with switches on the board but that one and setting in Bios to boot display from that slot. The board is seeing the card as the third light is on that means its reading its bios etc.

You should also try different SLI bridge.

Think you are right about the PLX chip being ok

Tried 3 different bridges so it's not that.

Will have a better look at everything tonite

I've no doubt it's something and nothing, probably leading to me being embarrassed :o

Well, where do I start

Last night I re flashed the mobo - re installed windows and everything else.

Re connected every cable.

Guess what - The damn thing works as it should

Good old user error at it's best :o
