AM3+ 970 vs 990
Hi,
Doing a refresh of a tired PC.
Intend to replace the CPU (probably AMD 4300, MoBo, RAM and HDD).
There is no intention of overclocking any of the components.
It will be used for gaming but I don't want anything extreme - the GFXis HD4890 at the moment and no plans to replace that in near future.
No desire or intention to Crossfire.
So bearing that in mind can anyone explain whether the 990X and 990FX chipsets would benefit over the 970A.
Please note, I know it easy to say it is only an extra £10, £20, £30 etc. but whilst I'm not adverse to spending more but I'd rather not if I'm not going to see any real benefit.
