Hi guys,

I really am getting confused and this has been one of my hardest computer builds ever.

Fully working:
* Hard drives (sata) hooked up.
* Sata dvd rw
* 7600GT pci express 512mb
* 600Watt PSU
* 6 GB RAM (2x1GB Geil, 2x2GB AData)
* MA790FX-DQ6 Motherboard
* AMD2 Sempron 3000+

I brought the CPU specifically to Flash the bios on the motherboard to revision F5C so that I could put my AMD Phenom 9600 in.

With the Sempron the system booted fine, so I flashed the bios, and followed the manual for this, the bios was sucessfully flashed so I put my Phenom in.

With the Phenom in the computer wouldn't boot so I removed some Ram and it goes to Bios fine, however it then hangs on "Verifying DMI pool data" and won't go past it no matter what i've tried.

Of course the verifying stage appears to be before the boot from CD stage as I have tried to boot using Bart PE and it won't boot due to hanging on the Verifying DMI Pool Data stage.

RAM setup:
4 Slots, 1,2,3,4.

With ram in slot 1 and 3 the system will boot to the verifying stage, if you put a stick in 2 or 4 then I receive no output from the PC. (This is only with the Phenom in, I've tried with the Sempron and it takes all 4 sticks fine and recognises all 4)

So I have this issue:
* works fine with the Sempron with full stack of ram.
* Won't give any output with the Phenom and full stack of ram.
* Will get stuck on Verifying DMA pool data with a ram stick in 1 and 3.

I've tried:
* Loading defaults on the bios
* Trying just 1 stick of ram
* Unplugged all externals apart from the CD drive and graphics card

I am now completly stuck and haven't any idea what to do, any ideas?

hmm weird 1, have you tried removing the battery and then move the CMOS jumper from default and then back again

Tried, no difference. I did it twice, first time I selected last known good configuration in the cmos prompt, second time I selected default profile. Both still got stuck at verifying dmi pool data.

curious question here why should you need to upgrade the bios on this board if its and AM2+ and the 790fx chipset i thought this chipset was designed to take the phenoms straight out of the box

Right,

Sorted the dmi problem, as I reflashed I selected clear dmi pool (doesn't say to in the manual).

Now just the ram issue, it will only take 2 sticks, 1 in slot 1 and 1 in slot 2, any ideas?
