Hi all

I purchased a mobo, cpu, memory & cooler bundle from Overclockers at the start of the year. Three times since then Windows 10 has suddenly said it's not activated.

I contacted Microsoft support each time and after a chat they re-activated for me.

However, each time this has happened I notice the MAC address has changed (or more specifically the last three bytes - the first three stay the same).
This change of MAC address can be seen from a command prompt typing 'ipconfig /all' and also from within the BIOS itself, and I presume it's this change that's kicked off the need to re-activate. I've checked in Windows as I know MAC addresses can be set in software too, but the box is blank.
It's now happened again and to say I'm pee'd off is an understatement.
I've never come across hardware MAC addresses changing in my twenty-plus years of building PCs.
Anyone have any ideas or (polite!) suggestions, please? This is really winding me up now.

Thanks for reading

Mick

EDIT: Went cap-in-hand to Microsoft yet again, via their online chat, and got it all activated again. Also noted that there was a BIOS update so upgraded that too. Will keep an eye on things moving forward...
