Does anyone know if Virgin use MAC filtering so you can't use 3rd party routers?

The reason I ask is someone here at work had trouble trying to use his own router with some ISP mind and couldn't connect because they had a MAC address filter so only their own kit would connect. I'm having trouble getting my 3Com router to connect to Virgin even though all the lights say it should be ready to go so wondered if it might be connected.

No it's Virgin over a BT line so I have a USB modem on its way but I want to use my router.

Can I clone the MAC address of a USB modem? I've only seen a setting to clone the computer's MAC on my router.

The answer was "no" they don't, I was just being too keen to connect as the lights said it was all working but my username and password wasn't ready until today.

To be fair the line was activated and working the next working day after I ordered, I just assumed because the lights were all lit the password etc would work too :D
