What would anyone recommend for this duty - I may be needing to cart my Air around a fair bit, so it'd be a shame for it to get unnecessary scuffed or scratched.

I noted a few suitable items on the Apple store, but they had some pretty poor reviews about overheating, zips scratching the laptop, laptop sliding around inside etc.

Looked at some of the Tech21 cases? They have clip-on shells, sleeves, as well as sort of leather jackets that you leave on when in use.

Have a look on youtube for Tech21 MacBook Air

I use a tucano Neoprene second skin case when i put my macbook air in my bag. It has an internal cover inside that stops it from moving in the cover.

I got a Be.ez 100678 LA robe Sleeve for Macbook Air (Black and White) for my 13" Air a couple of years back and love it. It's got quite stiff memory foam and theres padding on the endside of the sipper to protect it from scratches.

Knomo do a brilliant macbook air cast that I have had for about a year and a half that protects it really well and is very nice.

Its the "MACBOOK AIR LEATHER ENVELOPE" on their site.
