I am not familiar with mac book pro's but can attain the top end 17" model's for £1250 sealed new normally £1799.99, just wondering should I get one to keep, are they good for gaming etc.

To be honest, Macs aren't great for gaming in general. I can't vouch for the new MacBook Pros but I have one from the previous gen and it plays Call of Duty 2 on medium-ish settings - and won't go above that.

It's okay to play, but when there's a HP laptop next to it, that is a few years old and plays COD2 at more or less full settings, it's a bit painful.

If you're a big gamer I would say to stay away from laptops in general. The 8600s in the pros are pretty decent for gaming (as far as I'm aware) so it's not a bad option.

Is your primary use, games?

the new mbp's arent that bad for gaming, however osx itself is pretty bad to game with - if you wanted to game, use bootcamp and xp/vista

From my supplier he has told me he has 9 available..brand new factory sealed, basically any apple stuff i can get double cheap..picking 3 laptop's on saturday 17' normally retail at £1799.99

Whats 85% of £160?

Cos thats still all you save...

160gb 7200 = £100, high res = £60 IIRC.

Its 15% on Mac Book Pros and 13% on MPs IIRC

So its still ~ £1400/1450...
Ah maybe it's 1250 without the VAT ?

Been a while since I looked at the prices :o

I didn't pay the full price on mine (HE) hence why I thought it was cheap

Listen guy's I get the mac pro's for £900 a piece no fibbing, but I of course have to make a profit, for all the hater's out there just being honest..whether £1660 in the mac shop what is £900, so i am still saving £760 off the 17' mac pro..thanks for all advice anyhow..
