Afternoon all
Friend of mind has just got a new i7 Macbook Pro and while he was boring me with all the specs he happened to mention it has a graphics card as well as on board graphics.
I have read that some desktops can use both card and onboard in unison to get better performance, is this the case with his Mac?

Sorry dont have the actual specs on me but can find out tonight

Cheers

It switches on the macbooks automatically now, so long intensity stuff goes on the onboard HD4000 (not a bad card btw, all I need in my mac mini) and when you go high intensity stuff it goes to the other card.

Happens in pretty much all macs now as a power saving feature. Pretty cool I think.

Its the same technology/concept as Enduro on a Windows laptop if you're familiar with that. You can also switch manually (via a utility).
The technology you mention that can take advantage of both at once is most likely Virtu MVP.
