Hi,

Just curious on how many of you have a Mac setup for general computing and a Windows gaming PC just solely for gaming and use a KVM switch? Or were you on mac and decided it would be too much faffing about so just built a PC and went back to Windows?

I currently have a Mac Mini setup and it runs flawlessly but really want to get into Flight Sim again. Obviously NO Mac has similar performance than a decent PC, even the new Mac Pro so its got to be a PC for gaming.

Macbook Pro to use while in bed :) PC for everything else :)

Love MAC/OSX, but at the same time for me PC will always be my main computing device/gaming.

I have a rMBP, no Windows laptop comes close.

For Desktop I run triboot with Win 8.1/Debian/OS X.

If you like OS X and want to game but don't want to go down the Hackintosh route, either a MacBook + Desktop or Mac Mini+Desktop if you don't need a laptop.

PC for gaming. rMBP for just about everything else. Old Mac mini as HTPC.

Isn't Flight Sim nearly ten years old now? Surely can't require that mega a spec?

PC for games and game related stuff (writing tutorials, squad stuff etc) and MBP for everything else for me. I do of course use the PC for web browsing etc if I'm in between games as well though. Really need to sort out updating to a rMBP from the old thing I've got though (2010 model).

PC and PS4 for gaming, Macbook Pro 13 late 2013 edition for productivity, iPad for internet browsing, email etc

Macpro for everything, boot into Windows with a gtx770 let's me play all the games I'm interested in very nicely.

I think I'm going to sell up and go back to Windows. I do like OSX and its pretty to look at but i really want to get into flight sim again and don't want the headache of swipe swapping.

OSX keeps dragging me back too ;) :D

Just replaced my desktop with an iMac (again!!). But I really do intend to stick with it this time :)

Promise :p

PS Yosemite is epic, such a lovely lovely OS. Love it

It certainly depends on what mac you get. My Mac Pro chews through all the games I play on it. I rarely boot to windows, and that's usually because of a rare game. Then I get Crossfire support as well for my GPU's so I get ~780 Ti performance.

Also OSX's OpenGL Stack is now 4.1, not slow at all. In fact OpenGL performance in OSX is faster than that of OpenGL in Windows lately.

More games coming out are taking advantage of it as well, so it's better for all.

Personally I much prefer my Retina MacBook Pro for every day use; University work, Browsing, Writing, Music, Photo's et cetra.

However, I still have my trusty 'Orange Box' ;) for gaming.

I have an old MacBook Pro (~3 years) that I keep for backup too.

The beauty of having a Retina MacBook Pro is the mobility, it can also play a few games very well (World of Warcraft, Football Manager, Diablo III) :).
