ive got the new macbook pro 13 inch with a 2.53ghz cpu and a 500gb hdd. the problem is, it freezes up all the time! i'll turn it on and it will be fine for about 25-30 minutes, but then the programs wont quit and everything freezes and the internet stops working onit.

its been happening since the 10.5 update, but even more regularly now since the safari update! but i cant see how the safari update can affect it.

anyone else having this issue? is there anything i can do to stop it happening.

thanks in advance

I've had no problems with updates. Have you tried using a tool such as Onyx?
Is it always happening around the 25 -30 minute mark? If so perhaps the MacBook Pro is overheating. If you go to Apple's site and search for iStat, it's decent at telling you temps if you could post back here with the results? Also do you get the spinning pinwheel at all?

well the cpu is hitting around 49-51 constantly, but with a high of 59
the hdd is around 30-34
and the heat sink and north bridge are around 40-47

this is at about 20 minutes from turn on time, so any moment now i should freeze again ::D

yes i get the pinwheel just before it freezes

Take it back to apple store they will swap it if it NEW depends how long you had it for.. If it been happening since you got it I would have taken it back;..

Yeah, if you've not had it for very long then I wouldn't bother trying to find a fix, just take it back for a replacement/repair, although freezing up could be anything from hardware to software so it's difficult to diagnose the problem properly without being able to physically tinker.
