Hi,

I'm normally a Mac guy but have decided to take the plunge and get a gaming PC. I've looked around and asked some friends and come up with this spec. Can anyone see anything wrong with it or offer any suggestions.

My budget is about £1500, even though this is just over that, especially with the water cooled heatsink.

Graphics - Palit GeForce GTX 980Ti Super Jetstream 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (NE5X98TH15JB-2000J)
Motherboard & CPU - Gigabyte X99M Gaming 5 - Intel Core i7 5820K Six Core CPU & Motherboard Bundle
Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws 4 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C15 2400MHz Quad Channel Kit - Red (F4-2400C15Q-16GRR)
PSU - Corsair CS850M 850W Semi-Modular 80+ GOLD Certified Power Supply (CP-9020086-UK)
Drives - Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-75E250B/EU)
- Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST2000DM001)
Case - BitFenix Ghost Silent Tower Case - Black
Heatsink - Be Quiet! Shadow Rock 2 CPU Cooler or
- Raijintek Triton AIO Water Cooling Solution

Thanks for any help.

You could save yourself a good amount if you went for a 4770k and sli board which is more than enough to handle 2 gpu's

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 - Devils Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£25 Saving** £387.98
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLRED316G2400HC11CDC01) £99.95
Total : £497.53 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

Would go with this for a gaming PC.

I know you mac guys love to spend but for gaming you wont notice a difference. (Joke... I used to have an iMac)

Also Switch to a better PSU, great quality and can add another 980 down the line if you want that:

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 850W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £109.99
Total : £119.59 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

Thanks guys. I have placed my order with the tweaks suggested.
Cheers

Wow, decisive!

Switching to the 4790K was a good move IMO (although I still recommend the i5 DC most of the time). 16 G of memory is probably overkill but meh. Also I'd have got a smaller PSU.

Enjoy your system!
