Mac keyboard layout - is this right?

I've always wondered this. Is it right that when you are using the British keyboard layout, the " and @ symbols are in the same place they would be with the US layout?

Like anyone coming from PCs, I'm used to the " being above the 2, and the @ being to the left of Enter. But in OSX it's the other way around.

Is this right and if so, is there a way to change it? Or do I just have to get used to it.

Turn me into someone who uses OSX occasionally for a change of scenery, yes - but not for my main OS. Every time I use OSX it just reinforces to me how much better Windows is

One area in which it is better than Windows, it boots in a flash and apps load in a flash as well. Other than that, erm...
