Mac laptop screen repair

My mates son 'accidently' smashed the screen on his Apple Mac laptop the other day and it needs to be replaced.

Apple have quoted 'up to £500' cost for repair and others have offered lower quotes.

Are their any reputable, reliable firms out their that offer a reasonable price for repair? I've told him that Apple should have been his best bet but obviously the quote seems a little steep for a £800 laptop.

whats the make and model can you get a screen from the bay, shouldnt be too hard to replace yourself.
