Mac Mini and photo editing (or other recommendations)

Guys,

Dad is looking to get a Mac Mini and get into his photo editing (guess he is getting close to retirement and needs something).

Looking at a Mac Mini with all the bells and whistles. i7 3.0ghz, 16GB, Fusion drive.

I imagine this would be fine for photo editing but wanted to check. Nothing too hardcore. Photoshop mainly.

Either that or recommend something else?

If you can stretch to it I would go for a 13" MacBook Pro and connect it to your monitor and then you have the best of both worlds of desktop/laptop.

I would buy a Mac mini 2012 model with an i5/i7 and then get a nice monitor
