Hi all,

Ive recently ordered a Mac mini (1.66ghz, 2GB) and was wondering if anyone has done any RAW /Photoshop type work on them?

Im used to working with Photoshop CS2 and Raw pictures but is there anyway I can do this on the Mini? Will be using a Canon 350D.

Thanks

then youll be better off asking a photoshop forum regarding the intel optimisation code as from what i know photoshop still runs under thew slower rosetta code on intel?

my g4 1.67 powerbook 2gb runs all aspects of editing good enough though so doubt youll have much problems just maybe a little slower - sorry cant help more?

The speed boost of the Intel Core Duo processor is probably offset by the fact it has to use Rosetta for Photoshop at the moment. Probably equal to a low end G5 or something like that.

CS3 should arrive within the next six months and then Photoshop will fly once again.

... or as early as Q1 2007 if the rumours are right :D

got lots of options with mac and windows at the moment.
Need a pc to run 3DStudio Max, or an Intel mac if they can handle it at a decent speed.
Otherwise i'll have to keep current desktop, save more money and have mac and pc.
Wish 3DsMax would come out on mac and save me hassle =[

I have a Mac Mini (1.66GHz Intel Core Duo, 1GB) and do Photoshop (CS) work on it, it's very quick actually, even though it has to use Rosetta it does a great job with editing loads of images & layers at the same time.

yep, will be going back tomorrow for it to be checked out. It does have it stamped on the bottom of the Mini that its got 2GB, most likely to have been dislodged or something during transit.
