Hi All,

Just got a query from a friend as to whther a Mac Mini would work as their living room PC (Connected to thier plasma TV). Not got a lot of experience with these things, so wondered what everyone thinks?

Best,

I have the previous Mac Mini as a HTPC connected to a Panasonic plasma running XBMC which is connected to a unraid server for content and it runs great. (I used to simply have a USB drive or 2 behind the TV but as I have added more and more machines it made much more sense to add a server).

Combine this with a logitech remote it has great WAF, and looks lovely.

The current Mac Mini I believe has HDMI I Believe which will carry sound to the TV, mine is DVI to TV and Digital to a surround amp, I have other systems in the house (Acer 3610's) Which I have windows 7 on and they run pretty much the same way but are all connected HDMI to the TV's. Both systems have hardware video acceleration so can run ANY content you through at them! :)

Hope this helps.
