I don't know jack about Macs. A friend has a Mac Mini that is maxxed out with all options/features...2GB ram, 2GHz Core 2 Duo etc etc. My question is, how does it stay either so darn cool or so darn stable when it's hot???

We can both play WoW at the same time, me on a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo lappy with a Nvidia 7600GT video card....my cooling fan runs ragged trying to keep it cool and I occasionally get a heat crash. His Mac Mini chugs along like it doesn't have a care in the world....and there are no fans in that case! How is this possible?

The Mac Mini does have a fan, albeit a small one. The 7600GT is also going to run a fair bit hotter than what the Mini has, so it's going to have to deal with more heat. Plus Apple prefer their systems to run hot and quiet rather than turn the fan on at very moment, which probably explains why it doesn't get noticed much.

Firstly you need to sort your signature out as it is too big (and in the post)

Secondly the Mac Mini is designed to stay cool. Apple have a lot of experience of fitting components in a small space (iMac, iBook, MacBook, MacBook Pro) and they think about cooling (look inside a Mac Pro).

This is one of the things that goes towards the premium price. A lot of PC laptops whine like a demon everytime you try to do anything!
