Hello :)

I have had a 1.25ghz G4 mac mini with 256mb ram since they were first released and I finaly got round to buying a 1gb stick of ram.

I checked the spec on 123macmini.com and ordered a DDR 2700 1GB stick. I removed the old stick and slotted the new in but when I turn the mini on it just makes an alarm style sound and nothing happens.

If I put the old stick back in it boots up fine??

I've noticed the stick of ram in there is DDR3200 but the spec on this site said it should be DDR2700? Could this be it?

I hope you can help me as well as you did with the remotley controling my mac :D:D:D:D thanx again for that!!

Thanx

This is the spec from where I got it:

* 1GB (Size)
* PC2700 - 333mhz (Speed)
* CL 2.5 (Cas Latency)
* 128x64 -Built with 128Mx4Bit Dram (Hi-Density Dram- Please check compatibility or contact us)
* Un-buffered
* Non-Registered
* 184Pin
* Non ECC

That seems ok doesn't it?

Yeah that should be fine. Could be DOA though, have you got any means of testing it in another machine? Also, this may sound silly, but are you sure your pushing it in all the way :o :)

Hello :D

I was going to try it on the work pc today but we finished early for footy so I din't have time.

Yea the ram was in correctly, the black clips were in the grooves if you know what I mean :)
