Looking at a Mac Mini or MBP for Uni. I'll be staying at home during my degree. I'm going to be doing a degree in Energy/Environmental Engineering, this will require some CAD use as well as word processing and powerpoints. As well as movies, internet, music etc.

So what would the pros and cons be off the Mini V MBP I'm really undecided. I can't afford to spend £1000 on a rMBP so I'd be getting the MBP. They're both pretty upgradeable so I need some help guys

Thanks

Difficult to compare as one is a small form-factor desktop, and the other a laptop?

Would a comparison between the Macbook Air and Macbook pro be more relevant?

In terms of price, the Mac Mini can be cheaper, but it depends on what graphics card you are going to want to have in there to cope with the CAD work you do.

Personally I would look into a second hand MBP that still has some warranty on so you can get Apple Care, they go for £850~ and you will get something that gives you the ability to work out of the house as well. It might not always get used, but the function is there. Also gives you a second screen if you plan to attach another, so you can watch somethi-- I mean keep an eye on your email whilst working =]
