Hi all, Just a few questions. I am currently using a Quad core Intel windows based machine with 8800GTS. I am looking to sell my current rig and get an X360 for games. And purchase a Mac mini just to dip my feet in with minimum cost.

Now im very intrigued with Mac at the moment, and want something for emails, day to day use as a normal desktop. I know nothing about Mac so i wont pretend i do, Would the Mac mini run leopard smoothly.

Like no lag on the desktop when using the programs provided. etc etc.

If you get 2GBs of RAM for it I would imagine it would fly along nicely.

Plus even though the integrated graphics are rubbish they are good enough for day to day use.

Mac Minis are great little machines. With 2gb of RAM in everything runs nice and smoothly, and it's only the graphics which lets it down - but only for 3d stuff, so provided you're steering clear of games, you should be perfectly happy with it.

Ah thx guys. so 2 gig of ram is a must. Primary use will be for net mail msn.

It's not a must, but it would run very well with 2 as apposed to 1.

It will be ideal for your uses, and I guarantee you will like it. As they say, once you go Mac you never go back :)

again advise on the 2gb ram idea. Mac os really loves ram, and more does add to the responsiveness and smoothness of the experience.

But just a word of warning, in coming from such a powerful PC the mini will feel slow at times, and definately no gaming on the gma950 graphics. Even stuff like large documents/pdf's, editing photos or multitasking will be slow compared to your rig. But for purely email, chat, browsing, listening to music etc, the mini does an admrable job.
